CBTS was launched in 2008 by TOMTE, the Competence Centre in Tourism Management and Tourism Economics of the Free University of Bolzano, under the leadership of Oswin Maurer, Michael Bosnjak and Serena Volo. CBTS takes place every year in the month of December and involves highly recognized international scholars working in the field of Consumer Behavior in Tourism.
Each edition of CBTS focuses on a novel and specific research theme, offers keynote and parallel sessions, a doctoral student session, themed sessions and research methods workshops which bring each year about 100 tourism scholars to Bruneck. This small dimension allows for a productive exchange of scientific ideas and results and a lively discussion on new and emerging directions in research and practice in the field.
CBTS2017 “A Decade of Research in Consumer Behavior in Tourism” celebrates the event´s tenth edition welcoming submissions under the theme Mindfulness, Well-being and Happiness in Tourism Research – From Definitions to Measurements and also on the CBTS classics.
